The electric defogger has various types such as vertical, horizontal, multi-tube and wire plate.

When the electric defogger works, it generates an uneven electric field between the yin and yang. Therefore, both poles need to be electrically conductive. Generally, an electrostatic mist eliminator of non-metallic materials such as FRP or polyvinyl chloride adopts a method of conducting electricity by means of a liquid film; a conductive glass reinforced plastic obtained by mixing and compressing FRP and graphite, or a method of adding a carbon fiber mat to an inner layer of a FRP anode; To solve the conductive problem.
The electric demister anode tube plate is now mainly made of plastic, lead and conductive glass steel. Since the plastic electric defogger is electrically conductive by the liquid film, the effective precipitation area changes greatly, and the operating voltage and current are low, the effect is not as good as the latter two; in recent years, the lead anode tube sheet is continuously replaced by the conductive glass reinforced plastic, Light weight, low price, outstanding comprehensive performance and so on. Conductive FRP electric mist eliminators mainly have indicators such as treatment gas volume, total pressure drop and outlet acid mist.
The working principle of the electric defogger: through the static control device and the DC high voltage generating device, the alternating current is converted into direct current and sent to the demisting device, forming a strong between the corona wire (cathode) and the acid mist trap plate (anode). The electric field causes the air molecules to be ionized, and instantaneously generates a large amount of electrons and positive and negative ions. These electrons and ions move in an orientated direction under the action of an electric field force, forming a medium for trapping acid mist. At the same time, the acid mist particles are charged, and the charged acid mist particles are orientated by the electric field force and reach the anode plate for collecting the acid mist. After that, the charged particles release electrons on the plates, so that the acid mist is collected and flows under gravity to the acid storage tank of the acid mist remover, thereby achieving the purpose of purifying the acid mist.

Since the electric mist eliminator is generally in an acidic atmosphere, it must be made of a material having a good corrosion resistance. Commonly used materials are lead, hard PVC and fiberglass. Among them, lead electrostatic demister applications have the longest history. There are also many kinds of materials for the cathode corona wire of the mist eliminator, such as nickel-chromium steel wire outsourcing lead, titanium palladium alloy wire, titanium wire and the like.
